Judge Calls For Mental Evaluation In Lexington Stalking Case

A judge called for a more extensive mental evaluation for James Caldwell in his high profile stalking case.
A judge has called for a more extensive mental evaluation of a Lexington man in a high profile stalking case.

James Caldwell is accused of writing threatening letters to a former co-worker as well as some area businesses.

Caldwell had already undergone one mental and medication review, but Thursday a Lexington judge called for a more thorough exam to help determine if Caldwell is competent to stand trial.

When Caldwell went missing in May from his Lexington home, police said he was a potential danger to himself and the community.

He was finally located six days later in Corbin.

Caldwell is due back in court August 14th.
