Saturday, Jessamine County Emergency Medical Services and Saint Joseph Jessamine teamed up to raise awareness about drowning.

This was part of their annual “Kid’s Safety Day.”

Organizers said about 500 people attended last year and they expected even more people today.

There were also car seat safety checks during the event and many giveaways like life jackets and swim lessons to keep children safe all summer.
