A sentencing hearing for a teen convicted of shooting and killing his best friend...inside a Lexington home in 2009 has been delayed. Jamar Mays admitted that when he was 16 years old, he shot and killed his best friend, Ali Shalash while they were inside Mays Lexington home.

Mays is now 18 and his attorney has asked a judge to release the teen on probation or just send him to an adult prison to finish his ten-year sentence.

The judge is expected to make a ruling on November 17th.
