The Fleming County School District put Simons Middle School on lock down for several hours this morning because of a report of a "potential security threat."

Police and school officials say they have thoroughly investigated the situation and decided there was no reason for concern.

The lock down is over, but the school district wants to let parents know that every precaution has been taken to ensure the safety of the students, faculty, and staff.
