An inmate has been released in Lexington by accident.

Police are looking for Rodney Bell.

The Department of Public Safety says Bell was transferred from Shelby County to the Fayette County Jail on a warrant of contempt of court.

He bonded out of jail last Friday, and left.

The Department now says he shouldn't have been released because he was wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

The ATF calls him 'armed and dangerous.'
