Kentucky native and double amputee Stephanie Decker joined in remembering the tornadoes in her home of Henryville, Indiana on Saturday.

The Franklin County High School graduate lost her legs and almost her life protecting her children from the devastation that happened a year ago.

She was just one of hundreds of survivors that lined the streets of the town for an anniversary parade.

At a ceremony tonight, people spoke words of inspiration to and gratitude for the people of Henryville. They also thanks the more than 300 firefighters, police officers and volunteers who helped put the pieces back together after the tornado left a path of destruction 13 miles long a half mile wide.

An American flag and a Henryville flag were raised today to serve as a reminder that even when the recovery is done, the healing process will not be forgotten.
