Indiana Murder Suspect Arrested In Madison County

The Madison County Sheriff's Office along with the U.S. Marshal Office, Eastern District of Kentucky made the arrest of Robert W. Campbell, 20, a murder suspect wanted in Indiana.

Police say Campbell is wanted from Indiana for the following: two counts of murder; three counts of robbery; and four counts of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Officers were working a suspicious activity call in the area of Whitlock Road in Madison County. When a vehicle with several people came to the deputy attention after running a check all the people came back clear except the driver, David Sparks of Richmond.  He was arrested for suspended operator license and lodged into the Madison County Detention Center.

The next day, police received information that one of the people that he had checked was wanted for murder in Indiana. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office with the aid of the Eastern District U.S. marshal Office in Lexington obtained the address was we believed the wanted murder suspect was staying.   The address was 728 Whitlock Road in the Newby Area of our county. Campbell was arrested and lodged into the Madison County Detention center pending extradition back to Indiana.
