Woodland Park in downtown Lexington has seen increased crime over the past week.
Two robberies have occurred at night at the park. Police believe the same person committed both crimes.
The first robbery occurred last Thursday. Police say a man robbed a young couple at gunpoint and got away with a wallet and a cellphone.
The second happened on Tuesday night. A man rode his bike up to a park-goer and asked for some spare change. When he pulled out his wallet, the man on the bike grabbed it. The victim fought back and sustained minor injuries before the man fled without his bike.
Officers say there have been increased patrols in the area since the incidents. However, they don't think people should be worried. They say try to travel in well-lit areas and with others.
