Lexington firefighters said they had to use the jaws of life to get a woman out of a wrecked vehicle Thursday night.

Firefighters said the crash happened on southbound I-75 near mile marker 104 just after 11:30 p.m.

They said a white car was in the right lane--when the driver tried to pass a semi, she ran into it.

Officials said that caused the driver to lose control and go over the hill into a ditch.

Firefighters said the female driver was trapped inside. She was the only one in the vehicle.

They were able to cut her out using the jaws of life. Firefighters said she was taken to UK Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they don't have reason to believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, nor that wet roadways were what caused the driver to lose control.
