House Committee Okays Meth Bill

A Kentucky House committee passed a bill Monday that limits the amount of pseudoephedrine a person can buy without a prescription.
Another step forward Monday for a bill to limit how much pseudoephedrine people can buy. It's a key ingredient in making meth.

The bill passed the House Judiciary Committee Monday. If it becomes law, it would allow people to buy no more than seven-point-two grams of pseudoephedrine a month and no more than 24 grams a year -- over the counter. That would be about two boxes of medicine a month.

If someone wanted more than that, they would need a prescription. The goal is to let law-abiding citizens buy medicine, while stopping people who want to abuse it.
