Hot & Humid For Friday, With More Rain

Temperatures will be back in the lower 90s for Friday, with the heat index back into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. We will have rain showers and thunderstorms lingering for through the extended forecast.
Midnight Update:  The rain and thunderstorm activity has diminished, with patchy dense fog developing across the region.  Overnight low temperatures will fall into the lower 70s, with Friday afternoon high temperatures in the lower 90s.  Heat indices Friday afternoon will be back in the upper 90s, with another round of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.  A cold front will approach and move through the region this weekend, keeping us in an unsettled weather pattern.

Unsettled weather will continue through the extended forecast with an approaching cold front for this weekend, that will stall over the region into early next week. Friday will remain hot and humid, with temperatures back into the 80s for this weekend into next week.

Tonight: There will be a chance for some isolated thunderstorms through the evening, with gusty winds, lightning, and heavy rainfall the biggest threats. We will continue to have warm and muggy conditions overnight with clearing skies, and an overnight low of 72 degrees. There will also be a chance for some patchy fog as well.

Friday: Temperatures will top out around 91 degrees with partly sunny skies and the chance for widely scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The heat index will be between 95 and 100 degrees through the afternoon hours.

Weekend: A cold front will approach and move through the region late Saturday into early Sunday, bringing our next best chance for rain. Temperatures will top out around 88 degrees on Saturday and around 85 degrees for Sunday.

Next Week: Temperatures look to remain in the mid to upper 80s for the start of next week, with partly sunny skies and the chance for late day thunderstorms.
