Homeless Man Assaulted And Robbed Near Shelter

Lexington Police said a homeless man was assaulted and robbed early Friday morning near the homeless shelter where he stays.

Investigators said the reported victim, whose name wasn't released, was assaulted by two men who took his wallet while the man was walking in the woods near the Hope Center on Loudon Avenue. 

Police said the reported victim told them it happened around 5:00 a.m.

Investigators said the man was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
