With the chance of winning half a billion dollars, Powerball mania is sweeping the nation, and Kentucky.

Wednesday's Powerball drawing was the highest in history at an estimated $550 million.

The largest jackpot ever in world history was the $656 Mega Millions of March 2012.

The odds of winning this Powerball jackpot was 1 in over 175 million.

This huge jackpot even had people buying their first ever ticket.

Troy Williams said "$550 million is something you can't really pass up."

The cut off time to purchase a Powerball ticket is 10 pm.

The winning numbers will be shown on ABC36 News.
