The Lafayette High School Marching Band will perform in the Roses Parade this January in Pasadena, California.

Sally Bixby, President of the Roses Parade, welcomed the students to the parade by presenting the school with a rose flag and the students with rose stickers.

Bixby says Lafayette High School is one of 15 bands chosen to perform.

She adds the committee looked at a band's sound, attractiveness, uniforms and overall presentation before selecting who to invite.

The Roses Parade takes place on January 1, 2013.
