A Lexington parking garage was recently made over...with an addition that lent to the shows of patriotism July 4th.

The Helix Garage was lit up on Independence Day with new red, white, and blue lighting.

The patterned lights will now be a nightly feature on the garage, according to the Lexington Parking Authority.

The 80 LED lights can be programmed to be any color or pattern, and the parking authority said it's considering ways to incorporate public ideas for colors and designs.

The same Kentucky-based company that installed the lighting on the Empire State Building also installed the lights on the Helix Garage.
