Temperatures are soaring into the middle and upper 80s this afternoon, with a few isolated areas getting close to 90°.  The holiday weekend will be a hot one, with highs in the upper 80s today and on Saturday, and into the lower 90s on Sunday and Memorial Day Monday.  Isolated thunderstorms will be possible late today near and north of I-64, closer to a weak, dissipating cold front.  A couple of the storms in northern Kentucky could be severe with wind and hail.  Most areas will stay dry on Saturday, aside from a very stray thunderstorm over the high ground of eastern Kentucky.  Sunday will be the hottest day during this stretch, with highs near 92, which will rival record highs.  After a dry Sunday, isolated thunderstorms will return to the forecast late on a hot, 90° Memorial Day Monday.  Widespread thunderstorms will accompany a cold front on Tuesday, and we'll return to dry and bright weather on a more seasonable Wednesday.  Thursday of next week will feature lower 80s and scattered pm t-storms.
