A group has ended its petition drive to dissolve the Library Board in Pulaski County.

The group was unhappy about some recent tax increases approved by the board.

Members were also concerned that the board didn't have to answer to any other Government body.

There were fears if the Library Board was abolished local libraries would temporarily close.

But the group now says it's satisfied that the General Assembly is addressing this issue, so the local petition is no longer needed.
