Governor Steve Beshear will sign a law that will keep kids in school until they're 18.

Senate Bill 97 which raises the state's dropout age to 18 will be on the governor's desk tomorrow.

First Lady Jane Beshear has been fighting for this legislation for almost as long as her husband has been in office.

First Lady Beshear has said raising the drop out age will be a great investment in the future of Kentucky and improve the state's education system.

opponents to the bill say it will financially hamstring some of the state's poorest districts  by forcing the schools to keep more kids in classes that they can't afford
