Governor Steve Beshear appointed another justice to the seven-member Supreme Court of Kentucky.
Court of Appeals Judge Michelle M. Keller of Fort Mitchell is the newest member of the group which has three female justices for the first time in history.
Keller was appointed to replace Justice Wil Schroder who retired January 17 due to a brain tumor.
Keller was elected to the Court of Appeals from the 6th Appellate District in November 2006.
Before that, she practiced law for 17 years as an assistant county prosecutor and criminal defense attorney and served as chairwoman of the Kentucky Personnel Board.
