Gov. Beshear Encouraging Kentuckians to Research Kynect

The Governor says all Kentuckians without health insurance should check out the commonwealth's new health benefit exchange.
The state is set to "Kynect" uninsured families to healthcare plans starting next month.

On Tuesday we learned more about what they might cost you.

Starting next year, most Americans will be required to have some sort of health care coverage.

The state says its new Kynect program will help most uninsured Kentuckians find discounted plans.

The prices will vary depending on things like your age, where you live and whether or not you smoke.

For instance, the state says a mom with two kids who makes 40-thousand dollars a year can get a plan for as little as 133 dollars a month.

A 22-year-old student making 20-thousand a year could get a plan for 51-dollars a month.
