Golden Alert Issued For Knott County Man

Larry Mardis was reported missing from Golden Hills Rest Home Thursday afternoon

The Knott County Sheriff's Department has issued a "Golden Alert" for Lawrence "Larry" Mardis.  A resident of Golden Years Rest Home, Mr. Mardis reportedly walked away from the assisted living facility at 2:40pm on August 8th.

Officers responding filled out a missing persons report and entered Mr. Mardis into the National Crime Information Center issuing a Golden Alert.

Mardis is described as a white male, 5'9" tall and weighs 175-pounds. He is 49-years-old, has gray balding hair, blue eyes, with a dark complexion and medium build. 

He is clean shaven and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie over a green T-shirt, green athletic shorts, and white New balance shoes.

Mardis was last seen leaving the redi Mart in Lackey and walking toward Garrett on KY 7.
