Police: Girl Left In Hot Car in Laurel County

Police say a child was left in a hot car Monday afternoon in London Kentucky.
Warm weather can be dangerous weather; especially dangerous, if you leave a child in a car.

And police say that is what happened Monday afternoon in Laurel County.

ABC 36 News has confirmed someone found an eight-month-old girl in a car in a Kroger parking lot this afternoon in London.
Police say the doors were not locked, and the child was taken out.

According to authorities, the girl was sweating, but doing fine. She did not go to a hospital, and is now with relatives.

The parents, Robert and Rachel Smallwood, are now accused of first-degree criminal abuse and wanton endangerment.
