Newt Gingrich's campaign has filed the necessary paperwork to get on the ballot for Kentucky's May 22nd Republican presidential primary.

Mitt Romney is already on the ballot. As of Wednesday, Republicans Ron Paul and Rick Santorum had not yet filed, but they have until Tuesday, January 31st to do so.

Kentucky and Arkansas are the only states voting on May 22nd. In the past, Kentucky has not played a major role in the nominating process, because of its late voting date.
