Georgetown Picks Police Chief

Georgetown has offered its police chief job to Mike Bosse, a 30-year veteran of the Lexington police department.
Georgetown could have a new police chief in about a month.

The mayor says the city has made an offer to Mike Bosse, a 30-year veteran of the Lexington police force. Right now, he's assistant chief in the patrol bureau.

It's not quite a done deal yet. Some pre-employment checks need to be finished, and the city council needs to sign off on the hiring on March 19th. If that happens, Bosse will become chief on April 16th.

He would replace Greg Reeves, who was fired as chief in early February. Mayor Everette Varney said police needed new leadership.
