Michael Syrett was in court Tuesday morning and entered a not-guilty plea to drug trafficking charges.

Michael Syrett was surrounded by several of his teammates from the Georgetown College baseball team as he waited for his name to be called by Judge Vanessa Dickson on Tuesday's court docket.

Georgetown Police arrested the 22-year-old shortstop after they say he signed for a package at his dorm on campus.
postal inspectors called police when the suspicious package came in to Georgetown with Syrett's name on it.

Police say inside the package were 1,100 percocet pills...totaling $33,000.
Syrett told officers he knew the pills were in the package but that he was just giving them to someone else.

Syrett, his coach and several teammates from his baseball team, all declined our request for an interview.

Georgetown Police tell ABC 36 News they are still working with the United Postal Service on the investigation.

Syrett is still a member on the Tigers baseball team.

Syrett returns back to court November 8th
