GOP Leader Blasts House Redistricting Plan

House Republican Leader Jeff Hoover criticized a House redistricting plan that would pit Republicans against each other in three districts.
The leader of Kentucky's House Republicans called Democrats "political cowards" for supporting House district boundary changes seen as unfavorable to Republicans.

The plan, which passed a committee today 20 to 5, would pit nine incumbents against each other -- and in three districts, a Republican would face a Republican.

House Speaker Greg Stumbo, a Democrat, defended the plan. He says changes in population require it.

By law, Kentucky has to redraw boundaries every ten years to reflect shifts in population.
