Eastern Kentucky University's future president, Dr. Michael Benson, says he plans to help the University back on solid ground financially.

Officials say the 48-year-old has developed a reputation as a top level fundraiser for his schools; something there's a real need for now.

Benson says one of his strong suits is private fund raising and vowed to "get really aggressive" about raising money.

Benson is currently the the president of Southern Utah University.

He'll officially join EKU August 1st.
