Funds Approved To Rebuild West Liberty, Morgan Co.

$100,000 in funds are approved to help begin the rebuilding process for the tornado-ravaged area.
$100,000 in funds have been approved to help begin the rebuilding process for tornado-damaged West Liberty and Morgan County.

The funds come from the Appalachian Regional Commission. The entire area of West Liberty and Morgan County suffered extensive damage as a result of the devastating storms and tornadoes that ripped through Kentucky last month.

The funds will be used to hire an architect to develop a plan for the  professional rebuilding of the area. That plan includes designs for streets, traffic flow, land use, cultural aspects, tourism and the overall aesthetics of the city and county.

Six people died in Morgan County, and hundreds more were displaced from their homes.
