Escaped fugitive John C. Buckley IV was brought back to Kentucky from Wyoming on a plane normally used to transport the governor.

Because of Buckley's "flight risk," Fayette County Sheriff Kathy Witt said she asked state police for their help in safely returning the convicted rapist to Lexington.

The plane landed in Frankfort on Tuesday.  Buckley was then taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Sheriff said Buckley is due in court later this week.  Sheriff Witt said he faces additional charges of bail jumping, tampering with a prisoner monitoring device and contempt of court.

Investigators said on July 12, 2012, Buckley escaped from the Fayette Circuit Courthouse while being tried on rape and sodomy charges.

Police said Buckley cut-off an ankle bracelet that tracked his movement while he was out of jail on bond, awaiting his trial.

Shortly after he escaped, Buckley was found guilty of rape and sodomy and recommended 20-years in prison.

Authorities said Buckley, a former Army Ranger, hid out in multiple states during his ten months on the run.

Investigators said he changed his appearance and assumed multiple identities and had multiple cell phones.

In May of this year, Buckley was tracked down in Laramie, Wyoming, about 20-miles north of the Colorado state line.

Investigators said Buckley had been staying at a Sunset Inn motel in Laramie for about a week before he was captured.
