Friends Celebrate Birthday Of Missing Lexington Man

Friends of Alex Johnson celebrated his 33rd birthday without him on Thursday. The Lexington man has been missing since December 20, 2013.
Friends of Alex Johnson celebrated his 33rd birthday without him Thursday night at one of his favorite spots, the Blue Stallion Brewing Company on Third Street in Lexington.

The Lexington man has been missing for nearly a month.

The birthday party included a vigil and a balloon release in Johnson's honor.

Lexington Police said around 7:00 p.m. on December 20, 2013, Johnson was talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone when there was a knock on the door of his North Hanover Avenue home.

He told his girlfriend he would call her back.

He never did.

He hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Johnson's family put up a billboard in Nicholasville with his picture asking the public for help in finding the cook at the University of Kentucky.

Events have been held to raise money to help pay for the ongoing search.
