A search warrant issued at an apartment on John Davis Boulevard Monday turned up around $16,000 in marijuana and over $7,000 in cash, according to the Franklin County Sheriff.

Deputies said they were told about suspicious activity going on where Rafael Martinez, 23, was staying.

Martinez had previously been charged in California for cultivating marijuana and was deported back to Mexico, but now faces new charges of coming back to the states illegally after his deportation in addition to drug trafficking.

Sereh Villegas, 22, was also arrested at the home and charged with trafficking marijuana in excess of five pounds.
