Frankfort Woman Helping Her Homeland Haiti

Raymonde Jacques has spent most of the past two decades helping her native country of Haiti by building schools and offering medical clinics to one of the most secluded parts of the country.

Jacques says she's helped raise money to build three schools and has held dozens of medical clinics in a region where there are virtually no schools or hospitals.

Jacques works mostly with the Capitol City Christian Church in Frankfort to raise the funds, and then personally sees to it that the clinics and schools are being built.

She says some people will walk hours just to get to one of clinics, and says in the schools both students and their parents are often seen taking the same classes.

Jacques says she has no plans on slowing down and says she has other projects in the works for the region.
