A Frankfort middle school had be placed on lockdown this morning, after the sheriff's office received reports of a student with a handgun.
One student is in custody. After Bondurant Middle School was placed on lockdown at 10:17 a.m. Friday, a pellet gun was recovered. Police say the gun was similar to a .45 caliber handgun.
A hunting knife was also confiscated from the student. Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton called the lockdown precautionary , and said all students were safe.
