Frankfort police asked people to be more aware in their neighborhoods Wednesday.
The warning came after a string of recent robberies, which police said could be connected.
Police said four victims in three different incidents had similar descriptions of how the robberies happened, and of who performed them.
In each case, victims said there were two suspects (both male) and they were held at gunpoint, according to police.
Officers said the robberies--two of which happened during home invasions--happened in the course of a week.
The first incident, on Nov. 21st at 1 a.m., occurred outside of an apartment complex on Centennial Avenue, according to police.
"One of the perpetrators put the gun to the back of the victim's head and racked the slide, and indicated that he perhaps may shoot him," said Major Fred Deaton of the Frankfort Police Department.
The victim got away, said officers.
On Nov. 25th just after 3 a.m., police said an apartment in the complex across the street from the first incident was robbed.
While the suspects were there, they shot one of the victims in the forearm, said police. They added that the man was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Then, on Tuesday, Nov. 27th at around 1 p.m., another apartment was invaded on Leawood Square, according to officers.
Similar circumstances happened again, said police--two men forcefully entered another man's home, held him at gunpoint, and robbed him--but this time, the suspects stole the victim's car and ATM card.
One of the apparent suspects was later captured on camera trying to use the victim's ATM card while in that same victim's car, said police. The car was later recovered, they added.
Frankfort police said the suspects should be considered dangerous, and warned locals to keep an eye out in their neighborhoods for suspicious activities or people.
Police ask that anyone with information about the robberies to call dispatch at 502-875-8582. Officers add that tips can be completely anonymous, and there may be a cash reward involved if the information leads to an arrest.
