Frankfort Police: Rite Aid Pharmacy Robbed Again

Frankfort police said the Rite Aid Pharmacy in the Eastwood Shopping Center was robbed for the second time in as many months Wednesday.
Frankfort police said a Rite Aid Pharmacy was robbed for the second time in as many months Wednesday.

Police said an employee was walking through the pharmacy's parking lot, taking a bank bag full of cash to be deposited, when a man attacked her from behind around 4 p.m.

Cops said the suspect was then hit by a car as he ran away, but got up and continued running.

Officers said they searched the area, but weren't able to find the man.

There are similarities between this robbery and another one the pharmacy had on December 21, 2012, said police.

In that case, cops said employees of the Rite Aid Pharmacy were tied up with zip ties and robbed at gunpoint just after closing time.

Officers said they're still investigating whether the two incidents are related.

In the most recent incident, the suspect was described as a white male, between 5'8"-6'0", with a stocky build and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt under a green jacket.

Rite Aid Pharmacy is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspected robber. That is in addition to the $1,000 reward offered by Crimestoppers.

Information can be given anonymously by calling Frankfort Crime Stoppers at 502-875-8648, on the web at www.Frankfortcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 'FCS' and your message to 274637.
