Frankfort Police: Mail Carrier Attacked By Dog

Frankfort Police said a mail carrier suffered "significant injuries" after being attacked by a pit bull on Swigert Avenue.

Investigators said the mail carrier was bitten on the left forearm, wrist and legs.

Responding officers reported the large, brown dog barked in a threatening manner and when the Animal Control Officer took control of the dog, the officer was bitten on his boot.  The Officer was not injured.

The mail carrier was taken to the hospital.

Frankfort Police and Animal Control are investigating and consulting with the County Attorney.
