Police received a complaint of a possible sexual assault in the east Frankfort area.
Officers and detectives initiated an investigation that has resulted in the arrest of William E. Hafley, 40, of Frankfort.
Hafley was charged with rape in the 1st degree of a minor less than 12 years of age.
He was lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail and the investigation is ongoing.
