Frankfort Food Pantry Receives Huge Donation

Smithfield in partnership with Kentucky Speedway and Kroger donated 40,000 pounds of hotdogs to the Emergency Community Food Pantry in Frankfort Tuesday.
A food pantry in Frankfort received a lot of protein to stock its' shelves Tuesday morning.

Smithfield along with the Kentucky Speedway and Kroger donated 40,000 pounds of hotdogs to the Emergency Food Pantry of Frankfort. The donation was part of Smithfield's Helping Hungry Homes Tour.

"You see people who are struggling to be able to provide themselves with protein, something that is very hard to come by for food pantries and food banks is a great feeling for us as a company and for me personally," said Dennis Pittman, the Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Smithfield.

Smithfield has donated more than 25,000,000 servings of hot dogs to food banks across the country.
