A woman accused of biting and spanking a 15-month-old child in August has pleaded guilty on revised charges of fourth-degree assault, according to the News Journal in Whitley County.

The newspaper reports that 35-year-old Ginger Hackler was originally facing charges of third-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12 years old.

It also said as a result of her guilty plea, Hackler will spend a year in jail with a two-year probation as long as she completes sessions in anger management.

According to the News Journal, Hackler was a caretaker at Bell Whitley Early Head Start Center when she disciplined the teething toddler by allegedly biting the child in its left arm, leaving teeth marks.

She reportedly spanked the toddler as well.

The incident was said to have happened August 19, leading to Hackler's termination on October 1.
