A former Breckinridge County sheriff was found safe days after he was reported missing from his family's home.

Searchers found 89-year-old Robert Haynes in his truck on a farm near his home Monday.

They say he was dehydrated and hungry, bit otherwise okay.

Officials issued a Golden Alert Thursday after Haynes, who has Alzheimer's Disease, disappeared.

He was the sheriff in the early 1980's.
