Prosecutors said Wednesday that James Rogers, 37, a former Richmond City Police Officer, was sentenced to 9-years in prison in a child pornography case.

Prosecutors said Rogers must also register as a lifetime sex offender.

Rogers' prison term will be followed by a lifetime term of supervised release.

Prosecutors said more than 26,000 child pornographic images were found on computers that were removed from Rogers' home in Richmond.

Rogers pled guilty to one count of Receipt of Child Pornography.
