Former Regional Care Coordinator Sentenced for Forgery, Fraud Charges

Attorney General Jack Conway revealed that Kathy Jo Ryan, 49, was sentenced in Franklin Circuit Court on Friday for attempting to defraud an assistance program.

Ryan, who was formerly the regional coordinator for the Mountain Comprehensive Care Center in eastern Kentucky, pleaded guilty to four counts of forgery and fraud.

Investigators discovered Ryan had falsified doctors' notes and application information for the Hart-Supported Living Grant in November 2012.

The program gives disabled Kentuckians help to live at home and be active in the community.

The investigation showed that Ryan had reserved funding from the grant to remodel her home.

She was ordered to pay $64,993 in restitution within 90 days, and received a probated five-year prison sentence.
