A former teacher at Knox Central High School has been indicted on a charge of rape stemming from an accusation that an inappropriate interaction with a student had taken place.

State Police said they were notified in March by Knox Central High School about the incident.

This led to a third-degree rape charge against Terry Jones, 37, who was served with an indictment warrant on Tuesday.

The case remains under investigation.
