A Lawrenceburg daycare worker has been arrested and charged with public intoxication, after co-workers noticed her falling asleep while feeding children in the nursery.

A report in the Anderson Times detailed information obtained from the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

That information says a worker at Cradle To Crayons daycare on Glensboro Road in Lawrenceburg smelled alcohol coming from Gina York.

York had worked at the daycare since May 4, and one of the owners said York passed a background check. York's blood alcohol level was at .038.

York had told police she took several medications the morning the allegations were made against her. The daycare owners say they asked York if she was drinking, and she denied it. The assistant director of the daycare then called police. York faces three counts of wanton endangerment. She was terminated from Cradle To Crayons on Monday.
