A former President of Eastern Kentucky University has passed away.

Dr. Hanly Funderburk, 81, died last night in Alabama. He was the 8th President of the University, serving from 1985 – 1998.

A letter from the current EKU President says one of Funderburk’s greatest legacys was a commitment to regional stewardship.

Alabama Heritage Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
