A former Mercer County DARE officer who admitted to having a relationship with a 14-year-old girl has been sentenced.
Last year, a grand jury indicted Jason Elder, 31, on more than 140 counts of rape, sodomy and sexual abuse. Elder pleaded guilty to those charges in January.
He must serve three years in jail without the possibility of probation, and register as a sex offender for life.
