Former Assistant County Attorney Indicted For Murder

A former assistant county attorney in Wayne County has been indicted on a murder charge in connection to a deadly car accident.

The indictment was returned Tuesday against Roderick A. Tejeda, 42, according to court documents.

The accident happened April 19, 2012 in Monticello. 

Jerus Helen Neal, 54, of Monticello, died in the collision. 

Investigators said it appeared Tejeda was traveling in excess of the 35 mph speed limit at the time of the collision.
