Isolated showers and thunderstorms will remain in our forecast today, initially to the east, and eventually just to the south of the city, as a front stalls across Kentucky. Highs will climb into the lower 70s, peaking near 72° in Lexington, with cooler air to the northeast and warmer air to the southwest. Unsettled weather will continue through Thursday with occasional, off-and-on showers and thunderstorms as the nearly stationary front slowly exits, but a second cold front arrives from the west. Temperatures will soar to near 80° on Tuesday before the cold front cools us down to near 70° on Wednesday and 62° on Thursday. By Friday, only a few leftover showers will linger in southern Kentucky. High pressure will provide beautiful weather for the start of Easter Weekend, and temperatures be near 70° on Easter Sunday, with storm chances increasing late in the day as another cold front approaches from the west.
