Flu Now Considered Widespread in Kentucky

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention now considers the flu level in Kentucky to be widespread.

Kentucky Public Health said that half of the counties in the state are reporting confirmed flu cases. The Fayette County Health Department said there have been three confirmed cases of the flu in Fayette County.

The Health Department said the peak of the flu season usually begins in January and ends in March. It urges anyone with flu symptoms to stay home, and to wash their hands reguarly to prevent the spread of germs.
