Rain and ice from Tuesday night and Wednesday morning's storm are creating travel hazards in Rowan, Carter, and Greenup County.

According to Allen Blair of the Kentucky Department of Highways District 9, there are flooding concerns in low lying areas, including parts of Bluestone Road and along the Tiger River in Carter County.

Some roads are blocked due to the high water, according to Blair.

He also says mudslides are a concern, with one being reported off of Highway 801 near Cave Run Lake in Rowan County.

People traveling in these areas should take an alternate route, if possible.

Crews throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky are also responding to numerous calls for branches and limbs down in roadways.
